Filter Suspended Solids from Your Water
Side Stream Filtration is extremely important following a system clean. Correct filtration can reduce the levels of suspended solids in the circulating water of your closed water systems, especially after a pre-commission cleaning. This can reduce the risk of solid deposition and under-deposit corrosion in areas of low flow.
Installing this filtering system on a side-stream has a number of benefits: it means no system down-time is required when repairing the system, and chemical water treatment can often be undertaken through this same side-stream units. Most importantly, it prevents back pressure problems on the main closed systems in the event of large particles clogging up the filter, which can then be easily removed to prevent system down time.
Side stream filters can be easily added to either new or existing, even heavily contaminated systems. BSRIA suggest that side-stream filtration is suitable for most systems and is strongly recommended for systems over 2500 litres.
If correctly sized, the whole water system volume can pass though the filter at least once over a 24hr period to help maintain a system 24/7.
