Reduced Pressure Zone Valves

An RPZ Valve is a common piece of backflow prevention that appears in many water systems. Small but essential, it is important to test an RPZ valve regularly and keep it well maintained.

Both RPZ valves and check valves offer backflow protection to your water system, with the difference that RPZ protect your water supply by disposing of any backflow in the event that your check valve fails.

It is important to know whether your water system uses an RPZ valve and, if so, keeping it tested and maintained, both for the health of your water system and to make sure that you are fully regulation complaint. If you don’t have any RPZ valves in place, 4i Water Services can advise on whether this is something your system needs installed.

Keeping Compliant

The water undertakers Approved Installation Method (AIM) sets out the water supply industry requirements for the installation, commissioning and on-site compliance testing of the Type BA Device – aka, a BA device or RPZ valve. These regulations require RPZ valves to be tested regularly, with evidence of this testing ready for inspection on request.

At 4i Water Services, we are certified and water industry approved to carry out this testing, commissioning, and valve installation.
