Continuous bacterial control regimes – keeping your water clean

Why do I need a Continuous Disinfection Unit?

All commercial water systems should have a continuous bacterial control regime in place. This can be achieved through chemical dosing with chlorine dioxide. With the option of a chlorine dioxide unit, you are able to move onto a biocide control regime, which has been found to be far greener than the alternative of thermal control.

‘The ideal biocide’, Chlorine Dioxide sounds like just another form of chlorine, but is in fact very different. As a true dissolved gas, Chlorine Dioxide is stable and does not react with water. This allows it to ‘travel’ in solution and penetrate micro-organisms by molecular diffusion – quicker, more accurate, and leading to a cleaner result.

24/7 protection
Cheaper than temperature control measures
Reduced carbon footprint – save 0.07kW of energy per 1l of water that currently has to be heated to 60°C
Reduce requirement for TMVs
Reduce scale build up due to chemistry and lower temperatures
Kill complex organisms e.g. spores + cysts
Breaks down biofilm & eliminates chemical contaminants
Rapid bacteriological kill rate in seconds at drinking water standards
Effective over a wide pH range
Works in both hard and soft water
No carcinogens
Deodorises
No harmful residues

Our Sentinel Dosing Range

4i Water Services is a highly accredited water treatment company that specialise in Chlorine Dioxide generation and Dosing Systems (CDU). We have developed a robust dosing system that provides proportional dosing to 99.98% accuracy. This system can be remotely monitored and controlled and is easy to integrated into any BMS system. Read more about the system here.

Our Chlorine Dioxide Units

At 4i Water Services, we manufacture a range of products offering continuous disinfection through chlorine dioxide. Explore our units here, or contact us to learn more.

The 2020CDU is encased in a chemical resistant GRP case, with chemical resistant glands and seals. An additional extractor fan and filter can be added along with leak detection at an additional cost.
The XT2010 provides 24/7 data logging, wireless control and monitoring, water leak notification and precision dosing (0.04ml/l of mains water with a max flow rate of 7.2m ᵌ per/h).
The 2010 Mobile unit has all the benefits of the XT2010 but is completely mobile. This system also features a double probe system to monitor the incoming mains water and dosed water.
The 1010 CDU system uses a digital pump that can be linked to a water meter or chemical probe, or simply dose from a timer. The tank has a purpose-built chemical resistant level switch to ensure that the pump does not run dry.
